Convention of Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol of 1997 Drafted in 1992 Was amended in December of 2012 This amendment was an international agreement through the United Nations. Function: The Convention of Climate Change established a precedent for an international agreement among world governments to address the issue regarding Climate Change. In this agreement the countries have recognized the well being of our world is something all countries have to take a part in. In this amendment the world has united on the fact that greenhouse gases do in fact impact our earth and that greenhouse gas emissions need to be regulated.
Agency responsible for enforcement The United Nations is responsible for assuring that all the protocol established in the amendment is followed through universally by all the countries. Some requirements that have to be followed are: Collect and share information regarding greenhouse gasses Find new ways to enforce laws regarding the usage of greenhouse gases and how they can assist developing countries financially and technologically achieve the same Work together to find adaptations on the impacts that climate change will have on the earth and how we as a world can come together to face this issue
