KEEP IT CLOSE TO YOU!!!

COURSE DESCRIPTION We will explore the French language by developing proficiency in writing, listening, reading, and speaking. THIS IS A HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL CLASS, AND YOU WILL BE TREATED AND RESPECTED AS SUCH! We will be examining similarities and contrasts of American and French cultures, with an emphasis on Québec. You will most likely learn as much about the English language as you do French in here!

GRADING PROCEDURES I use a total point system. Quizzes Tests An essay each 9 weeks A speaking assessment each 9 weeks (Google Voice) Specified graded homework Movie each 9 weeks with test Midterm in January Final in May

About our academics together… You will NOT have a lot of homework, but you will work your butt off in here. You will ALWAYS know exactly what’s on every test and how to study. There will NEVER be a pop quiz. You may make corrections on ANY and EVERY quiz or test we have for half credit, except for the midterm and final. This is our class together! You all come from different teams with different things going on. Please know that I am always flexible, and I am here for you to make sure that you are the most successful you can be with the least amount of stress! Communicate with me if something is going on with your team so I can adjust! (ex: 5 huge exams in one day on team)

ABOUT ME… This is my 19th year teaching I have a degree in both French AND English I am OBSESSED AND IN LOVE WITH THE FRENCH LANGUAGE!!! I am OBSESSED AND IN LOVE WITH QUÉBEC!!! I am OBSESSSED AND IN LOVE WITH HOT YOGA I have two daughters: Juliet, 16, a junior at Mars, and Genevieve, 13, an 8th grader at Mars. I coach 8th grade cheer at Mars.

QUÉBEC TRIP More info coming very shortly! Not a requirement! Should NOT be the reason you are sitting in this class! We are together for 180 days…Québec is only 4 days! You MUST have good grades in all of your classes and be a positive member of the Seneca Valley community to go on the trip!
