Hard Wall Options – Right Angle Brackets For those who want to mount the AP in the preferred horizontal position Today, patch cord installation into the WAP is becoming a huge conversation, predominantly when mounting WAPs on the wall. The reason behind this, when the WAPs are placed directly over TO or electrical boxes, or perhaps the horizontal is coming in through a hole in the wall, customers must find an easy way to terminate the horizontal cable, along with attaching an equipment cord, maintain the bend radius, and provide enough room for cord slack, while concealing all of this. This is a real tight fit. To make matters more complicated, TSB recommends Cat 6a cable for all wireless installations due to the fast evolving technologies that are requiring higher bandwidth. Well 10gig Cat 6a cords have a larger diameter. With a larger diameter, the allowed bend radius, is smaller. TIA specifies that the patch cord bend radius be only 4x the cables’ diameter. So with slack in patch cords, it is clear that mounting options for the WAPs must have sufficient room for the placement of the patch cord. I just want to note, that many manufactures have a smaller diameter patch cord, which makes it a lot Easier for WAP connections, however, due to smaller gage size (28awg,) channel links have to be de-rated. That’s a whole another topic, and should be discussed with your cable manufacturer. Some manufactures also have very short patch cords, like 6 to 8”. This will all depend on the cabling manufacturer that your customer uses. Oberon has taken great consideration of these issues, and we can provide solutions that solve this issue. Model 1011 Model 1006-CCOAP Model 1012 Wall mounted WAPs are generally mounted directly over the TO, E-box, or raceway Maintaining proper bend radius, cord slack, and concealing the cable is quickly becoming priority for aesthetics

Physically protects from challenging environments Fits most Cisco WAPs This compact NEMA 4 enclosures are designed specifically to protect WAPs in challenging environments. This rugged polycarbonate enclosure protects the WAP from weather, pressure spray, spilling liquids, dust, and impacts. It is transparent to wireless signal. Very high ceilings in Auditoriums, stadiums, and large classrooms, have the potential to create interference. Also it may not be possible to mount the APs in the ceiling. So an alternative is to mount APs underneath seating to achieve the density required. Or mount the Aps on the wall with a right angle bracket.
