Project Overview The mainframe will be decommissioned on June 30, 2020. All mainframe functionality including systems, data, and querying tools will need to be transitioned away from the mainframe. EITS and OneSource team members are working with major units to carry out plans to transition functionality away from the mainframe. eits.uga.edu

Project Overview Three primary categories for systems on the mainframe: Replace – by another third party system Retrofit – to integrate with OneSource Retire – decommission the system entirely These categories are being used to identify applications running on the mainframe, data being received from the mainframe, and data being sent to the mainframe. eits.uga.edu

eits.uga.edu Definition Total Replace   Definition Total Replace Items will be replaced by another third party system. Example: UGA Alert 38 Retrofit Items will be retrofitted to integrate with OneSource. Example: Pinnacle System used for Telephone Billing 83 Retire Items will be retired, meaning the system can be decommissioned entirely with the implementation of OneSource. Current Activities Analysis of current mainframe usage is ongoing. An updated Master List is available on the project website. EITS is following up with major units on their Departmental Systems surveys that were submitted on January 26, 2018. EITS is working with various units on campus to plan work and communication needed for existing systems. eits.uga.edu

Planned Activities Information about the Mainframe Decommission will be included in the 2018 User Verification. Implementation of departmental systems plans will continue through July 1, 2019, in coordination with OneSource timelines. Check-in surveys will be distributed to OneSource Project Coordinators on a quarterly basis through July 2019. eits.uga.edu
