Sex and Gender Goal Group To build capacity of the Diabetes Action Canada Research team members to integrate sex and gender in their research activities by improving knowledge of: a) the importance of sex and gender for health research; and b) the skills and strategies for sex and gender based analysis; thereby enhancing integration of sex and gender considerations throughout all research processes and products of Diabetes Action Canada

Sex & Gender Research Support Service PRE-FUNDING CONSULTATION POST-FUNDING CONSULTATION Proposal review for sex & gender issues and opportunities Teleconference for feedback Letter of support Assist teams with integrating sex & gender considerations throughout the research process Phase 1: pre-data collection Phase 2: data collection and analysis Phase 3: dissemination Throughout all phases: Attend team meetings Regular contact Assist as needed Examples: Support sex & gender integration in research questions & design Conduct literature scan and/or formal scoping review & report to identify relevant sex & gender issues Examples: Review data collection tools for integrating sex and gender Review sex & gender considerations in project analyses Analyze sex & gender issues in project data or pre- existing health services databases (e.g. ICES data) Examples: Produce academic publications on sex & gender findings Create and implement KT strategy with a sex & gender approach
