Ground Water Remediation Extraction wells between pile and river intercept contaminated ground water Fresh water “curtain” injected when river is low Side channel habitat protected seasonally with added fresh water Injection wells between side channel and Riverside Trail 908,000 pounds ammonia 4,880 pounds uranium extracted through June, 2018 (kept out of river) Injecting during winter does not protect habitat any better, and tends to clog up wells.
