The Basics Be a liaison Communicate and provide information from the International and District levels to the division and clubs you serve. Lead the clubs of the division in service, fundraising and training Educate both officers and members about all things Key Club

Region Contributions for District Newsletter Region Advertisements Showcase the region Educate the rest of the District on what your region has to offer May include upcoming major events such as training conferences or conclaves Special focus as per request by News Editor Each team determines how, when, and by whom each ad is developed. Submitted by one Lt. Governor on behalf of the region following team approval. Must be submitted by the 20th by 6:00 PM of every odd month.
Club Visitations Purpose: Visitation 1: To connect with the clubs you serve To identify what resources the clubs need To help them achieve their goals Visitation 1: During the 1st and 2nd quarter, you must visit all clubs at least once. Visitation 2: A second visit Is not required, but highly recommended in the 3rd & 4th quarter to introduce LTG Elect

Helping the Clubs you Serve Finding Service Opportunities Encourage both officers and members to look for service projects Promote district reflectors and encourage members to join Provide ideas for joint projects with other clubs Paper recycling, school clean-up, garden planting Promote projects supporting the home, school and community Send out division service events via reflector
Seek a variety of projects Create a legacy! Seek annual events in need of high numbers of volunteers Promote Kiwanis Family service activities Work together to identify, plan, and implement a project Encourage clubs to get involved in annual Kiwanis service events (Kiwanis One Day) Recognize members for their work

Recruiting New Members Spring Clubs should plan for a strong start Host DCMs that focus on annual planning & goal setting Ex: 2 new members for every graduating senior Summer Clubs should have activities to build relationships “Summer of Service” Discuss recruitment and retention Encourage clubs to promote the organization Prepare for Club Rush
Autumn Winter BEE proactive, clubs should prepare for first meeting Host DCM focusing on successful club rush Recruit large clubs to share recruitment ideas/strategies Share ideas and success stories Promote Key Club Back to School Night/Freshmen Orientation Organize a division event for new members to attend PAY DUES – November 1st (Early Bird) Winter Recruitment never ends, recognize those who continue to recruit members! PAY DUES – December 1st (On-time Deadline)

There are 7 standing committees… Communications & Marketing (CM) Focuses on communication and promotions relevant to Key Club District Convention (DCON) Plans District Convention and works to promote International Convention Kiwanis Family & Foundation (KFF) Promotes all levels of the Kiwanis Family and the CNH Kiwanis Foundation Member Recognition (MR) Promotes recognition of members, officers, clubs and advisors throughout the year
Member Relations (MRS) Provides resources to educate and support members on all Key Club related topics Policy, International Business & Elections (PIE) Reviews both District and International policies, promotes the business side of Key Club International, and oversees CNH Elections Service Projects (SP) Promotes service and philanthropy; promotes International and District service initiatives Other Task Positions LTG CTC Site Coordinator RTC/Conclave Lead Committee Secretary
Division Council Meetings Lieutenant Governors are required to conduct at least 10 Division Council Meetings that are open to all members… Purpose Share information with the clubs you serve Develop relationships and bonds within the division Provide training on leadership skills Details Monthly meetings Open to all members, advisors, and Kiwanis Planned by the Lieutenant Governor Clubs can host & assist May be held in conjunction with service projects, fundraisers or division socials with proper Event Request Form approvals
Kiwanis Meetings Kiwanis is the backbone of Key Club Invite Kiwanians to your DCMs & events Support the Kiwanis Lt. Governor and sponsoring clubs by attending DCMs, special meetings and events Attend projects, events or meetings when available Encourage members to participate Host and plan a joint Kiwanis Family event Show your appreciation for all that they do
District Board Training & Meetings Lieutenant Governors are required to attend the District Board Training Conferences and Meetings. These last 1-3 days including the meeting. Purpose: Train the Trainers Trainers: Executives, advisors, and fellow Lt. Governors Leadership Topics: Leadership skills, promotional, informational, projects & service Board Member Topics: Duties, vouching, MRFs, reports, committee work
Other Duties Be an example, act as you would want members to act! Be spirited! Prepare for major events in the division and district Promote Fall Rally, DCON, RTC, OTC Inspire the members to serve Collaborate with other LTGs in the region to coordinator training conferences and service events Assist the presidents in planning and setting club goals Educate members about Key Club and Kiwanis topics
Division Leadership Team Provide leadership opportunities to the division you serve. Create applications! EXTRA: Include interviews and other supplements Delegate tasks Members want to be involved Executive Assistants Newsletter Editor LOTS of task coordinators
Transitioning Train and provide resources to the Lt. Governor-elect Pass down your knowledge and experience Past MRF, TCRs, Annual Plan, etc. Be part of the support system.
