Hi-Tech® current-limiting fuses Value proposition February 20, 2018

Hi-Tech current-limiting fuses FX Hi-Tech is an industry-leading brand of current-limiting fuses with advanced designs to provide maximum protection in small, cost-efficient form factors to optimize value and reliability and reduce system lifecycle costs. Value points Some of the lowest current let-through values vs. competition means superior protection and value 100% factory tested and sealed against moisture for a long and reliable operating life Exclusive full-range voltage and current ratings to serve everyday and specialty application needs 24/7 online plus live application support available nationwide Assembled in Hickory, North Carolina, and available with short lead times EX SX EXT February 20, 2018

Hi-Tech current-limiting fuses Potential application issues that may indicate a need for Hi-Tech current-limiting fuses System reliability — expulsion fuses may not fully protect equipment For specialty applications, such as wind and solar, competitors may not have full range offerings Fuse form factors may be too large for equipment or create extra cost in equipment design Partial internal fuse damage may leave systems unprotected February 20, 2018

Hi-Tech current-limiting fuses Hi-Tech current-limiting fuse advantages Exclusive patented damage sensor — Hi-Tech patented damage sensor prevents partial internal fuse damage that can otherwise result in an undetected lack of system protection. Shorty-style form factors — Compact form factors require less space in equipment, which saves product cost and reduces the amount of oil needed for transformers, which is better for the environment. Full-range fuse ratings — Ratings up to 100 kA and 200 A, along with parallel body transmission fuses up to 138 kV, allow for expanded applications. Current-limiting capability — Interrupting ratings up to 50 kA coordinate with distribution expulsion fuses to provide full system protection and reduce the risk of additional damage to system equipment during a fault. Hi-Tech current-limiting fuses Product/Feature Benefit Trans-Guard oil- submersible OS (HTSS) Minimizes the cost and physical space associated with paralleling two fuses to achieve the desired current rating. Trans-Guard full-range (EX, FX, SX) blown fuse indicator option Indicates an operated fuse without compromising the fuse sealing system. Damage sensor Prevents partial internal fuse damage, which may compromise full system protection during a fault. Trans-Guard full-range fuses (EFX, MCAN) Completely sealed and submersible for application in underground deadfront equipment. Connects directly to equipment-mounted bushings. Trans-Guard EXT backup fuse One of the lowest energy let-through values in the industry on overhead equipment provides full-range fuse protection and coordination with other equipment to prevent additional system damage during a fault. February 20, 2018

Hi-Tech current-limiting fuses Value proposition Hi-Tech Reliability X 100% factory testing and fully sealed against moisture Efficiency Small form factors save space for equipment cost efficiency Flexibility Full line of styles, mounting options, voltage classes and current ratings Compatibility Can be used in overhead, underground and internal equipment configurations, even on existing equipment Environmental sustainability Small form factors mean less material, lower cost and reduced oil requirements in transformer applications Lifecycle cost reduction Prevents additional equipment damage when coordinated with other protective equipment and protects against internal damage to always provide full protection Safety When coordinated with other protection devices, reduces the risk of catastrophic system failures during faults when other protection can’t fully interrupt the event Service Production in Hickory, North Carolina Support 24/7 online support configuration tool coupled with live application and engineering support nationwide February 20, 2018

Hi-Tech current-limiting fuses Bottom line The Hi-Tech brand provides a complete line of reliable, high-quality and cost-effective fuse solutions for use in the toughest conditions to provide maximum protection and added safety to electrical systems. February 20, 2018
