Week 1: Seeing The Bright Side All content from Tim Elmore’s Habitudes Experience

Seeing The Bright Side Writer Oscar Wilde once said, “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.” I love it. Even in the darkest of times, some are able to see what could be. For example, ask yourself “what if” on the following characteristics: Young people are consumed with technology. Could this be useful at work? Young people think out of the box. How can we leverage this at a workplace? Young people love apps and social media. Couldn’t we capitalize on this? Young people are social and connected. Any way this could be useful? Young people are often confident. Isn’t there a way to utilize this trait?

Seeing the Bright Side Instead of focusing on deficits, focus your compliments on talents Instead of talking about bright characteristics in people, how can you show them in yourself? How can you make celebrating someone’s bright characteristics the norm (on a regular basis)? Take turns telling your partner something that is honest, personal, specific and sincere about a bright quality you see in them.
