What does this tell us? Majority of sections are not serving our YP members (1/3 membership base in IEEE). Today’s YP members are tomorrow’s IEEE leaders. 11/15/2018

What do you need to form an YP Chapter? 6 GSM or above grade IEEE members Endorsement of Section A business plan for first 6 months of activities. Can form YP group via new online petition form. 11/15/2018

What do we specifically need to address? Access to technical content is very important, but not every member has access Mean satisfaction very low Satisfaction (Mean = 39%) Strong need for local member engagement and professional networking Lower priority improvements Importance (Mean = 60%) Top improvement opportunity Source: 2016 Member Segmentation Study

Goals for 2017! 5 New YP Chapters in 2017! 3 reported activities/YP Chapter 1 Strategic partnership with non-IEEE entity 2 Signature events at major conferences in R6 YP industry representative group Engage with all YP chapters Social media presence (850 followers currently -> 2k followers). 11/15/2018

MGA YP Funding 2017 MGA has committed $200K funding this year for YP. Each YP Chapter is eligible to receive: Step: $500 Meetup/Social/Networking events: $1500 Seed Funding for new initiative: $750 TOTAL: $2750 Apply here: https://yp-events.fluidreview.com/ 11/15/2018

Motions for IEEE Board of Directors Proposed: Resolved that the IEEE Board of Directors supports the proposal from the IEEE (MGA) Young Professionals for funding of $200K, $625K, and $505K in 2017, 2018, and 2019, respectively, to support the delivery of the current program and the projects proposed in the business plan and asks the IEEE Finance Committee to advise on the proposal and future funding. Passed: Resolved that the IEEE Board of Directors supports the proposal from the IEEE (MGA) Young Professionals for funding of $200K in 2017 with a review in 2017 for further continuation.

Strategic Partnership [Updates] 1/3 Startup Grind (https://www.startupgrind.com) 200 Cities, 98 Countries, 1M+ entrepreneurs Monthly event: Networking, Successful local entrepreneur/VC, Mentorship Attendance: YP age group of 60-80 people. In Region 6, Startup Grind have 7 active chapters Seattle, San Francisco, Bay Area, Los Angeles, Boise, San Diego, Phoenix 11/15/2018

Strategic Partnership [Updates] 2/3 20 Tickets @ $15/ticket (against the average of $20) for local event. YP will cover $10, attendee will pay $5. Per chapter annual expense: 6 Events x 20 tickets x $10 => $1200 $750 will be covered by MGA seed funding. Section out of pocket: $450 Seattle is in-progress (starting from February event). Boise also in-progress. 11/15/2018
