Elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1975

LIFE AFTER BASEBALL After playing 15 years in the negro leagues, judy johnson became a scout for several major league teams including the atlanta braves, philadelphia phillies, and the los angeles dodgers. His home in maryland was placed on the national register of historic places in 1995. Judy johnson suffered a stroke in 1988 and died a year later. He was 89 years old.
