Emily Rodda Before Fame Emily Roda was born in Australia on January 1, 1948. Emily Rodda grew up on Sydney's North Shore. She had two younger brothers. She attended the University of Sydney.

How Emily Rodda Became Famous She worked as an editor for a publishing company. Her first book was Something Special. Her first book was published 1984. It won the Australian Children's Book Council Book of the Year for Younger Readers Award

Emily Rodda’s Major Accomplishments Has written more than 60 books! Has won many awards, including The Dromkeen Medal Won the Australian Children’s Book Council Award 5 times! Sales of her Deltora Quest series is more than 10 million.

Emily Rodda’s Personal Life Lives in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia Her husband is Bob Ryan. Her real name is Jennifer June Rowe. She has four children, including twin boys.

Other Information about Emily Rodda She also writes under the pen name Mary-Anne Dickinson. Her dad was a television executive. She has been a full-time writer since 1994. My favorite books of hers are the Deltora Quest books.
