Why? One in Four (25%) young people in the UK experience suicidal thoughts (Young Minds) Among teenagers, rates of depression and anxiety have increased by 70% in the past 25 years, particularly since the mid 1980’s (Young Minds) 20% of adolescents may experience a mental health problem in any given year (Mental Health Foundation) The ‘No Health Without Mental Health’ Strategy states very clearly, the evidence is that early intervention support for children and young people is key to improving their mental health.
What is offered An effective early intervention and evidence based service. One to one Counselling or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy sessions within the college or access to other sites and therapies across Teesside. A safe, confidential space for students alongside safeguarding
