What is a rain forest? A rainforest is a place close to the equator and it rains a lot there.
Location of Rain Forests The rainforest is located around the equator which is why it is very hot and steamy. The rainforest is located in many little places such as South America, Central America, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
Emergent Layer The emergent layer is the highest layer of the rainforest. It has lots of animals such as parrots, harpy eagles, sloth and monkeys. The emergent layer has very tall trees.
Butterflies Butterflies live in the rainforest. The butterflies in the rainforest are very beautiful.
Canopy Layer The canopy layer is the second highest layer. It has lots and lots of animals such as sloths, parrots, and lizards. Here are some plants - orchids, ferns, and fruit trees.

Understory Layer Understory is the third highest layer it has lots of animals like butterflies, parrots, iguanas , boas, grasshoppers, lizards, macaws and tree porcupines. They also have many plants such as, reflasia and some small trees.

Forest Floor The forest floor is the lowest layer of the rainforest. They also have a lot of insects and animals such as dragonflies, beetles, ants, katydids, ocelots, and armadillos.
Jaguars are a mammal like humans Jaguars are a mammal like humans. They are predator that means that they eat meat. The jaguar lives in the rainforest. Jaguars
Deforestation The sad thing about the rainforest is it getting destroyed by logging, farming, and mining.
People of the Rain Forest There are people that live in the rainforest. I never knew that. There are 200 million people that live in the rainforest around the world.
River dolphins River dolphins live in all kinds of rivers; some river dolphins live in the rainforest rivers. River dolphins have a long snout.
