Using RefWorks Exporting References from IEEE Xplore Eastern Washington University Libraries
Start by searching for articles you are interested in The “Download Citations” button is grayed out if no citations are selected
Choose how you want your results sorted -“Relevance” is the default. New and old are mixed together -Choose “Newest first” if you are concerned about the age of the article -Choose “Oldest first” if you want to find the oldest mention of your subject
Click on the references you want to export to RefWorks
IEEE defaults to 25 Results per Page You have to download for each page, so you may want to increase the Results per Page More results per page will mean fewer files to upload to RefWorks However, more results per page slows down retrieval
Click the “Download Citations” button when you have finished selecting references on a page The button becomes active after you select one or more references
1. Include the Citation & Abstract 2. Select the RefWorks format 3. Click on “Download Citation
Success! To put the references in a folder, click on “View Last Imported Folder” button
1. Select “All in List” 2. Click on the folder name
A “Completed” message will appear for a few seconds after the references are moved
