DODGING THE CROCODILES July 2016

When in your life have you worked the hardest? Notes to leader: Use this question as a way to get people engaged in the update. Ask people to talk to the person next to them, and then feedback to you.

It would be hard to find anyone who works harder than Rosemary, from Zambia. She looks after ten children! Three of them are her own children, and seven of them are orphans she has taken in.

Her most important task is getting water for everybody to drink and wash with. For a long time, she had to walk very far to get water. The road was dangerous, and there were crocodiles in the river!

Then Tearfund partner BICC dug a borehole in her village Then Tearfund partner BICC dug a borehole in her village. It was a dream come true for Rosemary and her family. The water from the river was dirty. It spread diseases. The water from the new borehole is clean and fresh!

‘I am grateful to God and BICC for making my 50-year-old dream come true. No more diseases caused by drinking dirty water!’ Rosemary Chibona

PRAYER Thank God for the borehole in Rosemary’s village Ask him to bless Rosemary and her family with health and love

We would love your church to pray for Rosemary. The next slide is a set of postcards with her story on them: Print them out Cut them up Give to people to take home
