Launch of a Weather Portal In Public-Private Partnership with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FICCI)

Launch of a Weather Portal Why a new Weather Portal ? There was no user friendly web site on Indian weather Web Sites of Indian weather agencies contain more scientific information eg. Charts, figures, tables, etc Synergy required among operational and research weather agencies in India There has been great demand from different sectors and users for such a portal

Launch of a Weather Portal The portal is positioned as a user friendly, application oriented, visually appealing and simply worded - one-stop basic weather information provider for public.

Launch of a Weather Portal Main Features : Weather Observations About 200 stations Current Weather Observations on temperature, humidity, current weather situation, etc – to be updated 4 times a day Todays Observations from same number of stations on Max. & Min. Temps, Rainfall recorded at 8.30 am- to be updated once a day in the morning INSAT satellite imagery- updated every 3 hours

Launch of a Weather Portal Main Features : Weather Forecast All India Weather Outlook for next 5 days Zone-wise Weather Forecasts for North & North-west, East & North-east, Central, South and West India City Forecast for 20 stations on Rain, Max. & Min. temperatures, Clouds, etc for next 5 days.

Launch of a Weather Portal Main Features: Agro-advisories for Farmers Agro-meteorological Advisory Bulletins (AABs) from 107 Agromet Advisory Service (AAS) Units of NCMRWF AABs in both English and Vernacular Languages AABs contain weather during preceding week, forecast for next 4 days and farm advisory on major agricultural operations viz. sowing, harvest, pesticide/fertilizer applications, Irrigation scheduling, etc [To be fully operational from June]
