National Political Party: Under the new scheme, that Political Party will be accorded the status of National Political by the Election Commission- Which during the Lok Sabha or State Legislative Assembly Elections gets 6% of the total valid votes polled in at least four States and apart from it, it gets 4 seats in Lok Sabha in one or more than one states. or Which gets 2% (11 seats out of total 543) of the Lok Sabha in at least 3 states. For such a Political Party it is not essential to get 6% of the total valid votes.

or iii. That Political Party must be recognized as a state level political party in at least four states. State Political Party : State Political Parties are those Parties, whose influence is limited to one or two States or is limited to specific area. It gets 6% of the total valid votes of the Lok sabha or state legislative assembly elections and apart from it, it gets 2 seats of the concerned state legislative assembly.

ii. 3% share of the total seats of the state legislative assembly ii. 3% share of the total seats of the state legislative assembly. or iii. 3 seats of the legislative assembly, whichever is more. iv. One seat after 25 seats in the elections to the Lok Sabha in a state. v. 6% share of the total valid votes polled in all the Parliamentary areas of the Lok-Sabha elections in the concerned state as well as it gets one seat in the Lok Sabha.
