Long-Term Outcomes STRATEGIC PLAN SY 2015/16 –SY 2017/18 Focus Area #1 Short-Term Goals Increase student reading fluency in grades K-2 Increase student mastery of writing Increase student mastery of mathematical concepts on Georgia Milestones Assessment Increase student mastery of scientific concepts on Georgia Milestones Assessment Increase the number of 2nd- 5th grade students performing above grade level in math and reading on May benchmark STAR Assessment   Strategic Initiatives Phonics program in grades K-2 * Implement instructional practices that promote the integration of mathematics and science * Build on existing Science Technology Engineering Math (STEM) Program. * Implement semester-long Project-Based Learning (PBL) Units *   Focus Area #1 Instructional Practices Long-Term Outcomes Increase student academic achievement in math, science, reading, and writing Students will demonstrate 21st Century Skill readiness through collaborative learning, critical thinking, creativity, and communication Students will develop social and emotional competence. Strategic Initiatives Implement Personalized Learning Program to meet student learning needs * Teachers will use Professional Learning Communities to plan for the effective use of technology in the classroom. Quarterly peer observation classroom visits to identify instruction with high engagement and rigorous instruction Teachers who demonstrate high engagement and rigorous instruction will peer mentor to leverage the skills of all teachers. Create collaboration spaces in media center and computer labs Implement Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) college readiness system in grades 3 – 5 *   Focus Area #2 Academically- Challenging and Engaging Environment Short-Term Goals Increase teacher utilization of instructional technology Increase teacher proficiency in differentiation with technology Increase the number of teachers who provide highly engaging instruction Increase student use of technology throughout the school     Strategic Initiatives Bi-lingual communication to address language barriers (newsletters, meetings, etc.) * Offer one or more parent academic visits to classroom per quarter Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) strategies * School-wide leadership opportunities for students * Additional STEM Competitive Teams * Weekly K-5 academic & homeroom email updates to parents * Implement Power Up for 30 physical activity program * Increase recess time by ten minutes on non-PE days * Short-Term Goals Increase the number of students who hold student leadership roles in grades 3-5 Increase the frequency and quality of school-home communication by teachers Increase the number of students participating in after-school enrichment programs Improve student, parent, and staff perception of school culture Increase time for student physical activity Focus Area #3 School Culture and Community Connection
