How Were the Dead Sea Scrolls Found? A young shepherd wandered around the country side, looking after his sheep. He threw stones in some caves nearby to pass the time, when a stone struck pottery, and the pottery smashed. The shepherd went to investigate, and found thousands of scrolls and fragments of scrolls in jars all around the cave. They were the DEAD SEA SCROLLS

Why are the Dead Sea Scrolls so Important? Many things were written in the dead sea scrolls, but they mainly show us that the people who have written the bible today have not changed the words that were originally written, because they believed that they were truly writing the word of God.
