Early America

British Colonies In the early part of our history we were British colonists.

Declaration of Independence The colonists declared their independence from Great Britain in 1776. They did not think they were being treated fairly. No taxation without representation

American Revolution There was a war between the US and Great Britain that lasted for 7 years.

A new country The people of the United States valued their freedom and were very proud to have defeated the most powerful army on earth.
