WXR Purpose PRIMARY WXR COMPONENT WXR COMPONENT LOCATION OPERATION OF WXR PRECUTION WXR TESTING

The primary function of weather radar is to detect and display conditions involving rainfall gradients. A secondary function of weather radar is ground mapping

WXR SCOPE TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER RADAR CONTROL PANEL WXR ANTENNA

Direct the nose of the aircraft so that the aerial scan sector is free of large metallic objects such as hangars or other aircraft for a distance of 100 feet (30 meters). Do not operate during refueling of aircraft or defueling operation within 100 feet (30 meters). Do not operate if personnel are standing too close to the 270-degree forward sector of the aircraft. (example: for a 12 inch radiator, the MPEL boundary is 9 feet).
