Presentation transcript:

Public Identity To determine your current public online presence: Think about what types of stuff you post online Think about what you don’t post online Jot these thoughts down in your journal Discuss the fact that many of them didn’t write down really private stuff and I didn’t expect them to. There are things about me that I sure as heck wouldn’t write down. However, some people are willing to share stuff on Facebook that they wouldn’t share with an adult. Why? Screen Shots Take a few screen shots or photos: Google your name + ? Google your name + school Google your name + town Take a Screen Shot of each (or copy and paste info into a word doc) Create a word doc called: Your Name September 2015 Internet Presence.docx We’ll come back to this later on, once you’ve added to/refined your online presence. They don’t want to report out much on this. It needs to be revised to make it more meaningful. It would be neat to come up with an activity where they do this for their age group, rather than themselves specifically? Image: http://bgr.com/2015/04/21/how-to-download-google-search-guide/

What did you find? Strong presence: positive – how did you create it? Strong presence: negative – what didn’t you like about it? Weak/no presence – what do you want to be out there?
