BIBLE BASIC INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE LEAVING EARTH

Dei Verbum (#11) The Catholic Church “holds that the books of both the Old and New Testaments in their entirety,” are: sacred and canonical because written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, they have God as their author God chose men …so that with Him they, as true authors, consigned to writing everything and only those things which He wanted.

Dei Verbum (cont.) The Bible teaches “solidly, faithfully and without error that truth which God wanted…for the sake of salvation.”

A Catholic Approach to Scripture The books of the Bible were written by human beings, who are limited. Humans write in their own language and in their own style. Amidst the limitations of humans, the Holy Spirit still transmits the Truth.
