Presentation transcript:

Will they survive? Polar bears: Activity 3: Trouble Student sheet 4 To be graded level 5, 6 or 7 your report needs to: LEVEL FIVE List the adaptations that help polar bears survive in the Arctic. Describe how rising temperatures may affect them. LEVEL SIX Do everything for level 5 plus: Describe how their physical and behavioural adaptations help polar bears stay at the right temperature and feed themselves. 3. Explain how climate change could affect their survival. LEVEL SEVEN Do everything for level 6 plus: Explain why their adaptations would make it harder for them to survive in different climates. Explain why the changes in their environment are altering the polar bears’ ability to survive. Remember to get your message across by presenting things in a logical order and leaving out anything that is not relevant. Polar bears used to be the kings of the Arctic. But times have changed and they seem to be in trouble.   We need to understand what’s happening so we can plan the polar bears episode of the series. I need your report done quickly. Make sure you cover: Why they have been so successful until now. How the Arctic is changing. Why the changes make it more difficult for them to survive. Student sheet 4
