Parents: 1. Support your child. Be a positive influence emotionally, as well as in the areas of sleep, hydration, nutrition, and “fun”. 2. Be a fan of everyone on the team. 3. Avoid doing or saying things that will negatively impact Simle Football in the short term or the long term. 4. Understand that you and the coaching staff view the team and your child from different perspectives. Avoid talking to coaches: about complaints on game days (24 hour rule) about playing time about other players on the team
Simple it is. Easy it ain’t. MAKE THE CORRECT DECISION!!! “THE RULE” The Simle Middle School Football Family has really ONE policy, ONE procedure, and ONE rule. Many different situations are discussed during a football year but ONE approach covers it all. The policy is simple, “Make the Correct Decision”. Correct is that which has character. Correct is that which you will stand by. Correct is that which puts the TEAM first. Simple it is. Easy it ain’t. MAKE THE CORRECT DECISION!!!
Practice Expectations: A player must be at practice unless he/she is sick and not in school or if excused by the Coaching Staff. A player must attend all classes in order to participate in a game. A player is allowed to practice or play in a game if he/she is absent from school due to a school function. An injured player must be at practice unless the Coaching Staff excuses them. A player with an unexcused absence from practice may have to sit or miss some playing time due to the lack of communication/responsibility – more unexcused absences will lead to more missed time, be responsible and contact any of the coaches to let us know what is going on.
Game Day Expectations: Games have not been scheduled at this point – we need to wait to see how many athletes each middle school has and how many teams there will be for each school (dates and times are TBD) All scheduled games will be posted on the Simle R-School website, please be sure to check that site and talk with your child about game times and dates. If leaving town for a game, all players are encouraged to ride home on the bus with their team. If parents choose to transport their child home, a Travel Waiver must be filled out. Travel Waivers can be found at this site: https://www.bismarckschools.org/site/Default.aspx?PageID=2415
Player Safety: All coaches are certified, so if an injury were to occur, your child will be assessed by a coach and the coach will then pass the information on to the training staff at Sanford Health (a trainer will be at every game played this year) When injuries occur, return to play will ultimately be decided by the Sanford Medical Staff (no other medical staff will be able to make that determination) Sanford Medical Staff Contact information can be found at this site: https://www.bismarckschools.org/Page/168 Simle’s lead athletic trainer is Troy Guptill, and his contact information is as followed: Troy.Guptill@SanfordHealth.org
Clothes Order Clothing order can be found on the Simle Football Facebook page and also the Google Classroom page (clothing order closes August 23rd): https://simle2018football.itemorder.com/sale?read_message=true
Miscellaneous Items Chain Gang – we are always looking for volunteers to help at home games Please be sure to pick your child up at appropriate times (practice should be over by 5:30 pm and pick up times will be shared with players in regards to games). Realize the coaches have families to and we want to get home to them ASAP – thank you for understanding!! Please be sure that game uniforms and practice uniforms are being taken home and washed regularly Teams will be determined by the coaching staff – it should not matter what team your child ends up on (remember, it is a privilege to participate in athletics, for not every child gets this opportunity!) – story time! Our ultimate goal is to help your child develop fundamentally in the sport of football and to provide a fun experience while participating
