ORIENTATION TO CANVAS

Welcome to Online Orientation. So, what is Canvas anyway Welcome to Online Orientation! So, what is Canvas anyway? It is the name of the learning management system that delivers your online/internet course(s).  La Delta uses the software Canvas to deliver your courses.

Canvas URL You can not access the Delta Canvas by just googling “Canvas.” You must enter Canvas by clicking on the Canvas icon on the web page or by entering the URL directly. The URL is https://ladelta.instructure.com (bookmark it on your computer) Instructure is the company that created and maintains Canvas.

Now Log in to Canvas https://ladelta.instructure.com Use your LoLA username and password to log into Canvas

If you do not know your Username and Password: STEP 1: LOG IN TO LoLA (Log on LouisianA) Use the LoLA Lookup Utility below the login box (see arrow) to find your user name if you don’t already know it. Refer to the “User Name and Password Guide” for instructions on setting your own password.

Need a Password

Notice that the password must be between 12 and 20 characters.

Accessing Your Courses

View Content Area The content of the course is displayed in the Content Area. The content can be a page, the syllabus, discussions, announcements, quizzes, or imported content.

View Another Course Click the Delta logo in the Global Navigation to return to your Dashboard.

Time to Get Started! You now have the tools you need to get started on your online course. On the first day of the semester log in to Canvas and begin the semester! Check the Delta calendar @ http://www.ladelta.edu/Students/events for the start date. Remember to read everything that your instructor sends you or posts on Canvas.
