Abstract Photography

SCALE LIGHTING  and MOTION/BLUR

Blurring your subject… max of 10 shots!

Zoom in on everyday objects that have contrast and then blur it

Close ups…zoom in

Lines and Patterns!

Shoot scenes in abstract ways!

This is KIND OF abstract… zoom in!

You know what this is…so, how can you make it more abstract

Is this abstract? How could it be more abstract?

How can you make this shot more abstract?

Change your viewpoint to capture a more abstract shot.

Abstract Photography Assignment Your assignment is to capture the abstract with your camera. 36 shots total. You must show all of the following within your roll of film, or you will have to redo it: Angles and unique perspective, close-ups, lighting, scale, motion You want to try to capture the beauty of greytones all around you, the beauty of simple shapes, lines, angles, and viewpoints. ABSTRACT photography is often overlooked, and deemed ‘boring”, however, these are the shots that most people choose to hang on there wall and stare at day after day! You can set up a “Mock” studio in your house using a lamp and a black or white sheet. You can illuminate a very simple subject and focus on an area that might not normally get attention. You can juxtapose two unrelated objects in order to make a statement, too! You should be using natural light, but you may experiment with a few shots inside as long as your light source is natural. Use your imagination to show creative abstraction.
