Eco Club News Good morning. In P4-7 assembly last Friday the Eco Club members reminded everyone about Earth Hour and shared plans of what we are doing this week. Here are the highlights from 2017 across the globe – 3,100 landmarks and monuments switched off their lights including our very own St Magnus Cathedral here in Kirkwall. The official Earth Hour is Saturday 24th of March from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. Here at Papdale, we would like everyone in school to switch off lights and equipment as much as possible from 2-3pm every afternoon this week for Earth Hour.

Eco Club News The Eco Club reps will take meter readings at 2pm every day. Please meet Mr MacKinnon at reception just when the classes are going in after lunch. Monday will be Ryan and Jacob Tuesday will be Jenna and Jamsie Wednesday will be Ailsa and Callum Thursday will be Alannah and Ellie Friday will be Emma and Bailey Also at assembly we showed the Litter Pick Up Results. It is slightly better than last year but not great compared to 2013! Plastic straws, juice cups and crisp packets are the most frequent things we picked up. Unfortunately, they cannot be recycled. Starting today, at our Early Bird Bar, we will now be selling bottles of water that can be recycled. When you are finished drinking, please return your empty bottle into the bin next to the Early Bird Bar door for recycling. Thank you for supporting us with the Earth Hour switch off every afternoon from 2 to 3pm this week. You also might like to switch off on Saturday night starting at 8.30pm. Earth Hour is more than just switching off the lights, it’s a commitment to unit and protect the Earth.
