Policy Statement All audiovisual media used as part of classroom activities, instruction, distance learning, training modules for institution personnel, campus sponsored events, and co-curricular activities should include either closed, open, real time captions, interactive transcription, or subtitles, whichever is appropriate.

IP Question At AGC, the question was asked about the IP rights of faculty, particularly in relation to lectures which are closed-captioned. The faculty contract (Article 6, Section I) provides that the "materials created in support of lesson plans" are the property of the faculty member. Just as those materials (lectures, notes, etc.) are distributed to any student, materials which have been captioned would be distributed to a student with a captioning accommodation. Such captioning would not affect the faculty member's rights to their work as provided in the faculty contract.  You retain ownership of the content submitted to YouTube; YouTube and each user of the service have rights to access, display, etc. the material you submit. YouTube IP info is available at https://www.youtube.com/t/terms

Impromptu Materials update DSS front-desk staff instructed to pass along requests for last-minute impromptu materials; counselor/advisor will follow-up. Advisor will also have conversations up-front re: approach to impromptu materials. Remember, this is for truly impromptu materials, not last-minute requests.

Policy Statement All audiovisual media used as part of classroom activities, instruction, distance learning, training modules for institution personnel, campus sponsored events, and co-curricular activities should include either closed, open, real time captions, interactive transcription, or subtitles, whichever is appropriate.
