Microteja Plus ® A State of the Art Heat-Dissipating Coating

What is Microteja® Plus ? Microteja Plus ® is a heat-dissipating coating. It dramatically reduces the temperature of surfaces exposed to sun. It has been formulated in part by: It has been formulated in part by: High reflective pigments High reflective pigments Corrosion inhibitors Corrosion inhibitors Kaolin particles and refractive ceramic microns with very low conductivity Kaolin particles and refractive ceramic microns with very low conductivity Microteja Plus ® uses these basic principals: Reflectance and Refraction: The composition of Microteja Plus ® creates a snow-like whiteness (albedo 92%) that reflects not allowing the roof surface to absorb solar radiation energy (UV and Infrared) The composition of Microteja Plus ® creates a snow-like whiteness (albedo 92%) that reflects not allowing the roof surface to absorb solar radiation energy (UV and Infrared) It also refracts the radiation that can not be reflected It also refracts the radiation that can not be reflected Low Conductivity: Due to its low conductivity, whatever small energy that is absorbed by the product, is not allowed to pass on to the surface and it ends up being dissipated into the air Due to its low conductivity, whatever small energy that is absorbed by the product, is not allowed to pass on to the surface and it ends up being dissipated into the air

Microteja Plus ® is a white paste that it is applied like a paint and it has a satin look finish Microteja Plus ® applies over any surface and is recommended not only for buildings, it is very efficient on ducts, refrigerated rooms, A/C and other type air systems, farms, and others. Microteja® Plus

Heat Gain In a typical sunny day, the surface of a building roof can reach up to 25ºC higher temperature than the outside temperature. The expansion and contraction of the roof caused by the temperature fluctuations during the day and night, causes deterioration and defects on the roof (cracks, seals disruption, joints separation, etc.). Microteja minimizes theses effects. The heat gain on the roof, contributes to the heat load of the inside of the building in at least 70%, which makes the inside temperature to increase considerably to the point that in some cases, is higher on the inside than on the outside. The experience of the benefits of Microteja, not only on Laboratory Testing, but out in the field, have proven that Microteja reduces the temperature of the inside of a building up to 10ºC in areas that are not air conditioned. On air conditioned buildings, the energy savings obtained by the effects of coating with Microteja, ranges between 10% and 20%.

Ceramic Paint

Liquid-Flexible Insulating Systems These are basically acrylic paints loaded with ceramic micro- spheres that are used in walls and ceilings (outside and inside) to help insulate a building, house or office. This system helps to dissipate the outside heat and preserves a more controlled temperature environment inside. It is recommended to use only light colors. Very easy to apply. Microtejas Ceramic Paint for inside and outside use, not only acts as a very efficient insolating system, it also decorates and is 100% washable. It is as efficient as a 2 thick foam insulation at a lower cost, it does not cracks or peals (very flexible) and it helps keeping humidity out.

DESIGN Microteja Ceramic Paint is a mainly a combination of two acrylic resins in emulsion, free of solvents that will air dry after applied. It has been design with 3 ceramic components, one that reflects and the other two make a bouncing and refracting effect to the heat waves (natural and artificial). Due to its innovating design, the colors do not fade with time, it is very flexible and resistant to the UV radiation. FUNCTION AND APPLICATION METHOD Microteja Ceramic Paint contains ceramic components that reflects solar radiation and refracts heat waves. It also forms microscopic air and gas bubbles, which results in low conductivity. It is also very hard and it sticks very firmly to any kind of surface. It is easy applied with an airless system, a brush or with a roll. A 5 gallon bucket yields 50 to 60 sq. meters with two coats, depending on the kind of surface that is applied on. Clean the surface thoroughly and make sure it is dry before applying the product. Apply two coats of the product. Do not apply when is less than 13ºC outside. Two coats will warranty 5 years of insulation, but as you add coats, the time of warranty will increase proportionally.

Liquid Rubber Coating

Microteja Liquid Rubber Coating is a water proof system with ceramic components. It is extremely elastic and reflective. It features a double protection. It protects your roof against water leakage and also dissipates heat, keeping the inside of the building cool and free of leaks. It seals cracks and gaps on your roof and it is very durable. Specially formulated with high performance latex and acrylics that adhere strongly to any kind of surface. It can be applied with airless systems, brush or roll. It does not require any other material for its application as other water proof systems do (screens, sealants, etc.). A 5 gallon bucket yields 50 to 60 sq. meters with two coats depending on the type of surface and the time warranty is 5 years. Its chemical and physical composition makes it a very efficient performer. It is monolithic (presents no overlaps, joints, etc.) and it forms a one piece, seamless membrane that protect and insulate your roof.

METHOD OF APPLICATION WEATHER CONDITIONS Make sure you have a window of at least 3 days free of rain to apply the product and allow for it to air dry. SURFACE PREPARATION Make sure the surface is dry, clean and free of any prior coating or protection that looks in bad condition. CRITICAL AREAS Apply Microteja Liquid Rubber straight out of the container with a medium size brush over cracks or gaps and let it dry. On metal roofs, use a sealing fabric on the areas that presents problems and apply Liquid Rubber over the fabric and let it dry in order to get those areas repaired. Then proceed to apply two coats of Liquid Rubber on the rest of the roof surface and let it dry. Make sure you allow dry time between coats. DO NOT ADD WATER OR ANY OTHER MATERIAL TO THE PRODUCT

ACRILATEX Monolithic and Hermetic Water Proof Membrane System

REFLECTIVE – SEAMLESS – STRONG ADHERANCE – TOUGH AND DURABLE – IT DOES NOT CRACK – SOUND AND LIGHT WEIGHTED – LOW MAINTENANCE – WASHABLE – LOW CONDUCTIVITY METHOD OF APPLICATION Thoroughly clean the surface with a water pressure machine. If not available, do it with water, brushing a soft detergent and then rinse. At the very least, swipe and make sure the surface is free of dust or grease. If applying over a prior coating material, water proof system, etc., make sure to remove all loose and deteriorated parts of that material and repair problematic areas. Do not apply under 10 ºC outside temperature or when raining. Give yourself a 2 day minimum window rain free. Proceed to apply the Acrilatex sealing fabric and glue. If doing a 5 year warranty installation, dissolve the glue with water at a 1:1 ratio. If doing a 10 year installation, do not dissolve glue. For a 5 year warranty installation: Once the sealing fabric and glue are applied, applied one coat of Microteja Acrilatex and one coat of Microteja Acrilatex Ceramic loaded. For a 10 year warranty installation: Microteja Plus ® Microteja Liquid Rubber Once you have done the 5 year installation, add on top of it two coats of Microteja Plus ® or two coats of Microteja Liquid Rubber.
