Please note: There are limited Seminar opportunities for you to access technology and personal help with college and job applications Attendance and participation on October 11 will benefit you because it is a chance for you to get help, ask questions and confirm that you are taking all the right “next steps” There will NOT be a Seminar time on computers in Naviance until November 7 During Seminar on November 7, the students will be able to update Naviance, work on Scholarship applications/college applications.

Naviance and the college application process Requesting letters of recommendation, transcripts and supplemental documents for college applications The next few slides are just to give students a visual of what they can look for if they decide to get on Naviance on their own. They will get on computers tomorrow to do this.

Naviance is the electronic platform Lewis & Clark uses to send: Transcripts to most colleges Letters of recommendation to schools All supporting documentation required for Common App schools (Counselor & Teacher evaluation and all letters of recommendation) Final official transcripts to your designated college after graduation Students must use Naviance as it is the primary platform we use to communicate with the colleges.

When you are able to, log in to your Naviance account through lctigers When you are able to, log in to your Naviance account through lctigers.com

To access your account: Username = student id Password = 6 digit birthdate

Tomorrow, you will learn how to add colleges and update You can access your Naviance account anytime Even if you are not applying to college, Naviance has other tools for college/career searching Get familiar with the tool

Pondering your options? (Double click to start video)

Your High School & Beyond Plan Graduation Requirement Consider your plan now. Some require more steps than others and some require more information from the school Use the form you’re given today as a planning tool and final checklist There will be an electronic version available under the “Senior Info” tab on the College & Career portion of the school website Some of the students are unaware of the High School & Beyond Plan requirement. Our hope is that the document students receive today will make them aware of the multiple options they have available to them. Please encourage them to take time after the PPT to review the document & consider what they already have done or what they may still need to do.

NEW THIS YEAR! Senior Exit Interviews In late spring, seniors will meet with parents and a counselor/staff/volunteer to review your final HSBP Upcoming Seminars will focus on planning and executing the steps necessary to complete your HSBP The forms you have today will be used to demonstrate completion of your HSBP graduation requirement

Self-Reflection form for letters of recommendation Today you’ll begin work on your student evaluation form which you’ll use for requesting letters of recommendation. You may not need letters of rec for your colleges but you might need them for scholarships or job applications. This form can work for all of those. An electronic version of the form is available

Use the paper form as a way to draft your information Form available online. To create an electronic document. Go to lctigers.com College & Career “Senior Info”

Use the remaining time To review the documents Begin a draft of your self reflection Consider if you need to meet with a counselor, Mr. Norton, or Mrs. Maguire Write down questions you might have about High School & Beyond Planning
