DPS Technical Assistance Unit Texas Emergency Management Conference April 26-29, 2011

DPS Technical Assistance Unit The Texas Department of Public Safety has been charged to take the lead in Interoperable Communications planning across the state.

DPS Technical Assistance Unit DPS realized that regional and local jurisdictions did not have the resources, funds or accessibility to Subject Matter Experts for interoperability planning Using federal grant funding, DPS established the Technical Assistance Unit

DPS Technical Assistance Unit The Technical Assistance Unit works with the Statewide Interoperability Coordinator (SWIC) to guide and monitor statewide planning efforts. Regional planning (RCIP) Communications capability demonstrations (NECP-Goal 2) FCC mandated Narrowbanding for VHF/UHF 700 MHz Statewide Licensed frequency sharing

DPS Technical Assistance Unit The Technical Assistance Unit is also available, by request to offer services to regional and local jurisdictions . Our resources are limited but we will provide what assistance we can. If the request is more than we can support, we will provide vendor and consultant neutral referrals.
