Mission Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA) is the central office overseeing post-award financial administration of sponsored research projects at USC. Support compliance with sponsored research award terms and conditions, USC policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and other applicable guidance. Ensure prompt and accurate billing and collection with an efficient cash management system. Facilitate good stewardship of sponsored funds through training and development, streamlined financial systems, and high professional standards.
What Does SPA Do? Financial Management of Research Awards SPA works closely with schools, departments, Department of Contracts and Grants and other central offices to manage and collect sponsored research funds. Key functions: Account setup Invoicing Cost Transfers Budget Reallocation Letter of Credit Drawdown Unobligated Balance Transfers Financial Closeout Financial Reports
