WESTPORT SCHOOLS Raw Strawberry-Oat Bars April 27th is Stop Food Waste Day. We will be celebrating at Staples High with a recipe demo and with hand out tips for reducing waste at home. Events in May: Keep your eyes peeled for some NEW & Exciting menu options at all our schools! Most people want to eat foods that catch their attention and look fun to eat. Berries fit the bill with their lively colors and unique shapes! Berries are packed with important vitamins and nutrients, such as vitamin C, antioxidants, and fiber. These are all helpful in keeping your body healthy. Some of those nutrients have been shown to help build your immune system so you can fight off illnesses, control blood sugar for people with diabetes, and protect against many forms of cancer. Try to eat at least ½ cup of berries each day whether in fresh, frozen, dried, or 100% juice forms! Slice bars to your desired size, slice the remaining whole berries, and top bars with a few slices of whole strawberry

National Nutrition Month FOOD TRUCK FRENZY COMES TO STAPLES HIGH! Chartwells partnered with Ruiz Foods and hosted a food truck frenzy with samples of a few different menu items. The students really enjoyed the fun of the truck and the samples. When asked if they would like to see these new items on the Staples menu, they were all in favor! We sampled Chicken Soft Tacos and Steak & Cheese Tornados…YUM!!!
