Pabasa Meaning A chant-like song that is imported from Spanish missionaries and is taken from a ‘pasyon’ booklet. Pasyon book contains verses that narrate the life, passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was composed in the seventeenth century by Spanish missionaries. The first Filipino version was made by Father Gaspar Aquino De Belen in 1704.
