It’s NOT About Luck at All! 2.3 million children ride our yellow school buses every day of the school year. We train drivers and monitors; maintain school buses; route carefully; teach children about safety; take training courses; and so much more We insist on safe practices and don’t settle for laxity and carelessness: Only the Best for the Kids NO It’s not about LUCK… It’s about preparedness and diligence and doing what’s right!

WINTER WORKSHOP THANK YOU to ALL who attended! And by ALL, we mean all 201 (a record #) attendees And by ALL, we mean all 16 (also a record #) vendors Attendees shared in workshops on Mental Health and School Security, Drowsy Driving Prevention, Sexual Harassment in the Workplace, Emerging Trends in Special Needs Transportation, Calculating the Non- Allowable Pupil Decimal, and Regional Transportation Options And everyone got home safely before the next winter storm!

LAW COURSE! The Cyr Foundation is proud to bring you a School Transportation Law Course. Instructors will include attorneys from Harris Beach, PLLC. 4-hour course will include textbook and thumb drive containing all materials used in the course Registration of $135 per Member; higher for non-members Dates on NYAPT/Cyr Website include: >May 3rd at Orange-Ulster BOCES >May 10th at Genesee Valley BOCES/Leroy >May 24th at Suffolk Transportation/Bay Shore Other sites include the Corning Area and the Syracuse/Utica area; all courses in May 2018

WHY THE LGBTQ COURSE… Gender-based bullying is at an all time high. School bus drivers are not always familiar with the LGBTQ issues and sensitivities. We need to do all we can to enable them to keep the ride safe for ALL children. The Cyr Foundation offers a program with PTSI to increase awareness and sensitivity to LGBTQ students. Drivers (attendants) will learn ways to prevent and lessen the effects of bullying for these students. It’s IMPORTANT for these team members to share in this program!
