Celebrating Our Journey “I am really grateful… I enrolled at the OCCC Family and Community Education Center to learn more English and get the American citizenship, and I happily achieved one of my goals. I started GED classes, TOEFL classes, and I hope to become a pediatric nurse.” “I am really grateful for having the opportunity to retake my school education. I got married when I was too young, so I decided to stop my education to take care of my family. After seventeen years my three children have grown up, and one more time, I had the great opportunity to return to school. Two and a half years ago I enrolled at the OCCC Family and Community Education Center to learn more English, and I started in the intermediate classes. They helped me have more confidence. Then I decided to continue working hard to get the American citizenship, and I happily achieved one of my goals. After that I continued my education and started GED classes. Again, I studied hard to try to accomplish my goal. Now I am in the TOEFL classes, and I hope to continue forward to become a pediatric nurse.” Georgina Fabela I am really grateful I enrolled at the OCCC Family and Community Education Center to learn more English and get the American citizenship, and I happily achieved one of my goals.
