China’s Religion/Philosophy Confucianism- Political and Social Philosophy Taught/teaches respect and duty Filial Piety= Family is very important Dealt with relationships like: ruler-subject, Parent-child, Husband-wife etc. Han Dynasty and others used to find people fit for government service (Civil Service Exam) Daoism- (Tao) “the way” Harmony with nature, simple living, etc. Legalism- Qin used it to unite China….later elements in Communism. Establish peace and order through force Farming and Military= respected professions

India/Asian ideas Hinduism- Brahma= creator Based on Upanishads and Vedas (written tradition) Dharma Atman Moksha Karma Caste System-
