Artificial Insemination Or………….. A I Artificial Insemination Or…………..

Objectives: Students will: Discuss why AI is utilized in Animal Agriculture. Learn the Temperature of Liquid Nitrogen. Learn how semen is stored. Learn how estrus is detected in cattle. Learn the gestation period for Bovine, Porcine, Equine, and gallus domesticus,

Cows Gone Wild!

Artificial Insemination has been around since 1939. over 65 years. less than five percent of the nation's beef cows are bred AI, majority of these breedings taking place in the seedstock and the club (show) calf sectors. As a point of comparison about 66 percent of the nation's dairy cows are bred AI, and the use of AI by commercial swine producers is currently 70-75 percent.

Artificial Insemination is utilized to Improve local herds. Utilize high quality blood lines.
