Participant Profile: Two Year or Four Year? Public or Private? # of Int’l students? % of enrollment? Do you have a strategic international recruitment plan? What are your Int’l enrollment goals?

Why increase international students? Internationalizes the institution Enhances education for all students Contributes to cooperative international relations – public diplomacy Adds a talented, high-achieving group to the student body Positive economic impact The presence of international students on campus 1) enhances the education of domestic students: contributes to diversity in the classroom (which enriches discussion, improves critical thinking) fosters international friendships and networks that remain important – both personally and professionally – long after graduation enhances skills of cross-cultural and global contributes to cooperative international relations a key part of American “public diplomacy” creates a cohort of public officials and professionals in other nations, who understand and value the U.S. fosters international research and professional collaborations shares American educational resources with the rest of the world 2. adds a talented, high-achieving group to the student body: international undergraduate applicants must meet higher admissions standards than domestic applicants international graduate students are vital to many of our science and medical labs international undergraduates are retained at a higher rate and have higher graduation rates than domestic students Competence Economic Impact: Out of state tuition, brings from overseas to our shore. What is Study Florida? Non-Profit 501(c)3 incorporation Established in 2012 Members are: Florida-based, SACSCOC accredited Includes 2-year, 4-year, public & private, non-profit institutions Section 4. The Board of Directors determines membership eligibility and reserves the right to refuse full or associate membership to applicants for any reason in the interest of the goals of StudyFlorida. An organization becomes a Member upon the payment of dues, approval by the Board of Directors and appointment of a representative of the organization to StudyFlorida. Dues are to be recommended by the Treasurer and approved by the current membership quorum in attendance at a regularly scheduled StudyFlorida business meeting. Section 5. All rights and privileges of members shall be exercised by representatives appointed by the member institutions. Persons acting as designated representatives shall be members of the staff or faculty of the organizations they represent. On any occasion, only one person shall exercise the rights and privileges of membership for each member organization.
