HI Confusion with the Galaxy Felix J. Lockman Susanna Finn Megan Jackson Mayumi Sato

Dwarf Galaxies Most abundant large-scale objects in the universe. NGC 1569 close to Galactic plane. Nearest (post-)starbursting system, possibly part of IC 342 galaxy group.

GBT observation ―――― 7:30 - 8:30 PM Let’s call it a night! Wed, July 15, 2009: 2 – 4 AM (in Arecibo, AST) 1-2 GHz receiver, spectrometer Rest freq n=1420.4058 MHz (HI), bandwidth DB=12.5 MHz Freq. switching (Dn=-2.5 MHz) & cal. on-off First 5 scans for pointing/focusing (3C249.1) Target: NGC 1569 at l=143o68, b=11o24 Mapped 2o(Dl) x 1o (Db) 17 scans x 3-second integration Lost internet connection after setup…. Let’s call it a night! …Thanks Greg! ;-)
