Young AFCEAN Awards Distinguished Young AFCEAN (DYA) 40 or under Can only win once Main focus is on AFCEA contributions Emerging Leadership Must have won DYA award (at least two years ago) For example, if you won DYA for 2016, you can win Emerging Leader for 2018 Main focus is on demonstration of continuous leadership since winning the DYA award

Young AFCEAN Awards Regional DYA Each AFCEA Regional Vice Presidents (RVP) selects one of the nominated DYAs from their Region to receive this award Distinguished Young AFCEAN of the Year The Awards Committee then votes one of these Regional DYAs as the Distinguished Young AFCEAN of the Year Recipient is not notified ahead of ceremony

Young AFCEAN Awards Young AFCEAN Chapter Award Focus is on providing programs and initiatives geared to the needs of Young AFCEANs including professional development Compete with chapters in same size category Chapter President typically nominates their YAC Program for this award Chapter has to have received Model YAC Program recognition to apply

Young AFCEAN Award Nominations Fill out Justification box on nomination form Prepare in Word first then cut and paste Retain headers (Leadership and Guidance, etc.) Delete questions to maximize number of words allowed Type over “YOUR RESPONSE HERE” in each section Hit Submit Nomination at bottom of page once complete Be prepared - word limit will not be the same as shown in your Word document!

Young AFCEAN Awards Deadline Deadline is Sunday, October 21 at midnight EDT Do not leave submissions to the last week! We cannot accept nominations after the deadline Website automatically closes down at midnight EDT If you made an error or excluded relevant information on an existing nomination Before the deadline Redo and resubmit the nomination the last one you submitted will be the one used Up to four days after the deadline Contact Susan or Tyler and we will take care of the error/addition for you Five days after the deadline We cannot make changes more than four days after the deadline
