Secondary 4 Why it is so important???

How the Quebec School System Works This is you!

What’s Required to Graduate? There are 4 requirements to receive a Secondary School Diploma You need a total of 54 credits 20 of these credits must come from secondary 5 You must pass: Secondary 4 Math Secondary 4 Science Secondary 4 History Art (drama, Art, Dance or Music) You must pass Secondary 5 English, French and Phys. Ed or Ethics*** To get into Secondary 5 English and French, you must pass Secondary 4 English and French That’s a lot of sec 4 classes!

Secondary 4 Importance Secondary 4 is vital to get a Secondary School Diploma Secondary School Diplomas are required to get into CEGEP While DEP programs (Vocational Training) do not require Secondary School Diplomas, they are considered an asset in these programs Jobs and employers may ask to see your high school transcript (even part time jobs)

Can I take these classes if I fail some sec 4 classes? Sec 4 Impacts Sec 5 Succeeding in secondary 4 opens up more options for your future There are different option classes in sec 5 that may interest you Chemistry Physics Biology Math Topics Science and the Environment PACT (Physical Activity for Life) Outdoor Ed. Advanced Dance, Drama, Art, Music Family Life Ancient History World Geography Leadership Can I take these classes if I fail some sec 4 classes? It depends. The priority is to re-do the sec 4 classes you are missing. This might mean you cannot take the optional classes you would like

What can I do now? The school year has just begun – stay on top of your schoolwork Use your agenda for important dates (tests, assignments, projects) If your confused, who can help? Your teacher Visit the Academci Advising Department (help from tutors, peer-tutoring and online study support, etc) Use the Resource Room
