Presentation transcript:

Cisco VOIP & Unified Communications ICTF 2008 Talk about the market Cisco IBM Microsoft Google and others are all heading towards the same point A Web2.0 enabled business environment that will enable the workforce to breakdown the traditional silos of business, to find the talent they need to bring to bear on a project or opportunity and ultimately increase the corporations effectiveness..and reduce the current “information overload” we are all suffering from today. This digital world is likely to be access via some sort of portal.. Microsoft - Outlook/Exchange augmented by Livemeeting / Sharepoint / MOC and Groove… more around messaging and filesharing backed up with as you know their own UC solution set. IBM have Lotus Notes/Domino augmented with applications such as Websphere / Webportal , QuickR, Lotus Connections and of course sametime… are coming at this from a more similar vein to us… but very much centred around the WEb2.0 world with platforms such as connections…using our UC solution set to enable the people component Google with Googletalk, Google apps.. All in a hosted environment And ourselves who in truth are coming at it very much from the collaboration front with application platforms such as Webex and Webx connect, combined with our own UC applications and infrastructure.. But fundamentally open to allow our customers to integrate 3rd party applications such as Oracle, IBM or Microsoft. So we are I think starting the “War of the portals”, … to be sure Cisco’s aim here is not to become the IBM or MS or Oracle, more enable their apps to connect with people. So this week we will talk about our vision of this future… next week we will show you through a demonstration what that future world may look like. Cisco VOIP & Unified Communications ICTF 2008
