The 1st enviromentally-friendly filtering system for the optician

Respect nature !   38 millions of lenses have been sold in France in 2017. 500 tons of particles have ended-up in sewage works. 760 000 m3 of drinking water have been poured into the drains.

Water and the Law ! The European community legislation authorizes discharges into the sewage system of loaded water up to 100 mg of particules per liter. Each lens edged generates about 13 g of particules. To comply with the law, man would consume about 130 liters of water for each edged lens !!

The Law - Definition Pollution of water can be associated to the presence of floating objects, coarse material and coarse particles in suspension. Depending on the size, these particles are generally divided into : Coarse material (settleable or floatable) The suspension material (form oragnic or mineral nature) which are insoluble, fine. Définition de la pollution par les matières en suspension – MES - www.environnement.ccip.fr/eau/entreprise/polluants-criteres.htm

The Law - Values Measuring unit mg/litre Release limit value 100 mg/l if the stream does not exceed the maximum daily of 15 kg/d 35 mg/l if the stream exceeds the maximum daily of 15 Kg/j Définition de la pollution par les matières en suspension – MES - www.environnement.ccip.fr/eau/entreprise/polluants-criteres.htm

The Law – Consequence This particulate pollution is the cause of many issues related to material deposits, their physico-chemical adsorption* capacity and damage to equipment by clogging, abrasion, etc.  The main effect is the clouding of water ─ what we call turbidity ─ reducing the penetration of light rays that are indispensable to the regular growth of plant life on river beds. *Adsorption: the adhesion of substances to the surface of a particle by a process of weak bonding. www.environnement.ccip.fr/eau/entreprise/polluants-criteres.htm

A filtering system that respects the environment the operator the machine

Description Without water consumption, Without rejects, Without odours, Neptune filtering system enables opticians to supply water to their edger  With the same efficiency as an open water circuit. In complete conformity with legislation on waste water discharge.

Description Every day, 50 liters of clear water for Edging the lenses Rinse and clean the machine Improving the use of the machine Neptune allows A permanent re-use of the water To aggregate the neutral residus than can be disposed in the domestic waste

Principle Day Night During the work phase, it is the edger that drives the system. Neptune's job is to maintain a constant supply of water to the grinding wheels during operation. In the filtering phase the edger is stopped and the cycle is driven by Neptune. Duration 6 to 8 hours. The cycle is executed while the store is closed.

The working cycle Edging water evacuation Water for the edger Tray for chips, large particles Level sensor monitoring the water level Supply pump for the edger Water circulation Pump holder Particules deposit

Filtration Cycle -1- Transfer Water loaded with particles Pump (1) starts, shakes all the "sludge" that has been deposited at the bottom of the work tank and sends the cooling water and grinding residue into the filtering tank Filter bag with polluted water

Filtration Cycle -2- Cleaning the work tank As soon as the sensor (2) on the filtering tank has detected five litres of filtered water, the return pump (3) starts up and sends water under pressure through the nozzles on the top of the work tank to clean the sides The pump (1) detecting the water, starts up and sends the cleaning water back to the filtering tank.  Cleaning cycle lasts 60 minutes and is repeated up to 10 times. Supporting grid for the filtering bag Filtered water

The filtering bag has to be changed every 1500 lenses. Filtration Cycle -3- Filtering Once the work tank is clean, pump (1) is deactivated. All the water is now in the filtering tank. Through gravity it is filtered through the disposable filter (4) where all the grinding residues are stored. The filtering bag has to be changed every 1500 lenses. It weights about 20 kgs (2) Filtered water (3) Returning pump

Anti-Smell Cycle Principle Perfume diffuser Air loaded with Zinc Ricinoleate particles Purified air way out Bottle of Zinc ricinoleate Air coming from the upper part of the filtration system Fan Activ carbon filter

Anti-Smell Cycle Active principles - Zinc Ricinoleate  Zinc Ricinoleate is a highly efficient deodorizing agent which neutralizes bad smells. It is used in both conventional and organic deodorizers - Activ Carbon Active carbon is an inert microporous carbon with a broad internal surface (up to 1,500 m2/gramme). This surface can absorb organic molecules that occur in liquid and gaseous substances: polluting molecules adhere to it. The carbon (sourced from coal, coconut shell, wood, etc.) acts through a three-step process: the water is removed (dehydration); the organic matter is transformed into elementary carbon (carbonization) and the non-carbon elements are eliminated.

Buying motivation for the optician: Look for savings Ecological sense Desire to fulfill the law Cannot stand the decantation tank any longer - manipulation, smell, overflow, standing water… Need to decrease edging smell Problems with limestone deposit Plumbing blocked by residus Need to move the equipement To another floor To basement Temporarily
