For everyone but in particular those who got less than a 4 on the last gradebook it is important that we start developing some revision materials. Elizabeth and Her Family The Tudors came to power in 1485 and their reign ended when Elizabeth died in 1603. Henry VII was the first Tudor King winning the throne on the battle field at Bosworth in 1485 from Richard III. Henry VIII the younger son of Henry VII ruled 1509-1547, famous for having 6 wives. Started as a popular young king, ended reign as a tyrant. Edward VI, Henry VIII only legitimate son whose mum (Jane Seymour died as a result of childbirth) came to the throne aged 9 died aged 15 (ruled 1547-1553) Mary 1st, Henry VIII eldest daughter. Mother was Catherine of Aragon. Ruled 1553-1558, married Philip King of Spain (her cousin) but died childless. Elizabeth I, Henry VIII daughter by Anne Boleyn. Difficult childhood, often in danger but ruled 1558-1603. The Virgin Queen, never married and was the last Tudor.
