VET CENTER HISTORY 1979: VA established outreach centers for Vietnam Veterans and their families out of the recognition that a significant number of Vietnam era Vets were still experiencing readjustment problems. Services extended to all war zone Veterans, sexual harassment/assault victims of any era, drone pilots, first responders, mortuary services, family members of deployed military personnel, and bereavement services.
