Information Management for Effective Emergency Response Godwin Ilukhor Jnr. Information Management Officer Education in Emergency Working Group Nigeria (EiEWGN) 24th May 2018

What is Information Management Information management (IM) is the collection and management of information from one or more sources and the distribution of that information to one or more audiences. This sometimes involves those who have a stake in, or a right to that information. Management means the organization of and control over the structure, processing and delivery of information. - Wikipedia

What is IM in Emergencies This is the capture, handling, storage, analysis and dissemination of data pertaining specifically to operations and the populations of concern, including demographic and statistical information. It involves information on needs and conditions, geo- referenced information, and information related to protection and sector-specific concerns related to needs, delivery and impact in health, nutrition, water/sanitation, core relief items, shelter and education. Jad Ghosn & Edouard Legoupil, UNHCR Jordan
