What is World Challenge 18 month program – Fundraising, planning and expedition 4 weeks overseas – November – December 2019 Students control all aspects of the trip from budgeting to booking transport. Fundraising, Training Camps and walks, World Challenge Outdoors subject, Amazing Race
Challenges Camps and camping skills Camping or living in hostels for a month Packing Being away from home for a month No internet or phone Being responsible for yourself and others
What do you do ? Acclimatisation Community Engagement phase Each expedition includes four areas – Acclimatisation Community Engagement phase Challenge phase Rest and Relaxation
Acclimatisation Get used to new cultures and environments. Learn about your new team and start running your own trip.
Community Engagement Phase Teams spend five days working and often living with a community. Here they will work on either a construction, conservation or teaching style of project.
Challenge phase Teams embark on a five day trek, often through remote areas of rainforest or countryside. The group will carry their packs, cook over fires and sleep under the stars.
Rest and Relaxation Enjoy some well earned down time to finish your trip. Some of the activities you may choose are White Water Rafting, Elephant safaris or tours to places such as the Floating Markets.

How can we help? The school has the following equipment which can be borrowed – 65 L Backpacks Jackets MacPac offers 20% off on purchases for World Challenge Team members. Network of past challengers who can assist with equipment A percentage of Group fundraising is divided amongst the Challengers to assist with costs (2017 Challengers each received $440)

Interview process Adventure anyone? To be accepted into the program you must complete an interview with staff and ex World Challenge challengers Register your interest and collect an application sheet TODAY Parent meeting – Thursday 10/5, 7pm, PAC Interested students/parents must attend or email your interest to Mr Smith by Wednesday afternoon 3. Confirm your interview time by the Wednesday of week 3 (16/5) .
Applications 1. Start preparing! You may choose to prepare a presentation to support your interview application. 2. All interviews will be conducted on Monday Week 4,Term 2 3.
